I’ve purchased Bircen sunglasses in the past and have generally been happy with them. Bircen isn’t a traditional brand name, and some of their glasses are priced a little higher than you might expect from a lesser-known brand. That said, the products I’ve received from them have been consistently good quality.Frame / StyleThese use an acetate (plastic) frame with a very retro design. It’s definitely a distinctive look (probably not everyone’s cup of tea) but I’m personally a little tired of buying the same thin metal frames over and over. This pair has a bit of personality, which I appreciate. The frame feels solid and well finished. The hinges seem sturdy enough for everyday use.LensesThe lenses are polarized, and Bircen includes a small demo card that lets you test this. It’s a paper card with a hidden image that disappears when viewed through the polarized lenses. It’s a little gimmicky, but it does help confirm that the polarization is real, which I actually appreciate. Beyond the demo, the lenses themselves look clear and well made. Glare reduction works as expected.Packaging is simple* Small cardboard box * Protective plastic sleeve * Foam insert to keep the arms from scratching the lenses * Soft storage pouch * Cleaning cloth OverallStyle is always subjective, especially with something this retro, but the build quality and lenses are solid. If you like the look, these are a good value.
The sunglasses arrived in a branded box and included a microfiber cleaning cloth. The description shows the style as silver frame and silver lens. The frame is a translucent black that transitions to clear at the bottom. The lenses are more of a gray tint than a reflective silver. I like that they are polarized and provide UV protection. The glasses are an upgrade from the cheap plastic, but missing a couple features for a premium brand. Notably the arms have no flexibility and they don’t have reverse bending hinges. Something I hadn’t noticed until I put them on was the nose bridge - it’s an oddly shaped horseshoe and goes too high. I thought the glasses were comfortable, width was good and liked the shape of the lenses. I just don’t personally like how this nose bridge looks on me. Minor cosmetic detail in an otherwise decent pair of sunglasses.
Great fit and looks good
Good cheap everyday shades. They are a great value and could easily go for much more.
Good value but poor quality
Everything seemed well built on the glasses with one exception - they are crooked. One arm is lower than the other so it sits crooked on my face!
Nice shades good quality
This is a pretty nice pair of sunshades. I like the style and the protection factor it offers, plus it looks good while wearing, what else do you need?
Great quality!!
Not bad
Love them, it's my second pair after broken the last one
Perfect
These are great. The style is nice and something different. Didn’t like the gold on the side (a bit feminine) so I colored it with a black sharpie. All good now. Great price.
I love these. I love the blue color and it fit well I my face. It is great for reducing sun glare. And it is a good weight. And Bircen is always good quality too.
Great quality. Comfortable fitting, all around great sunglasses
Great product. Great customer service!!
Great sunglasses! Fit well and came quickly and protect my eyes from the bright sun while still being able to see clearly.
The sunglasses are a great value. The quality is good and they have UV protection.
I love these sunglasses, the only problem is that I couldn't figure out how to attach the somewhat inscrutable croakie to the glasses. Otherwise, the glasses themselves are great!
Love the glasses. They are lightweight, fit very well and great value for money
